7th Grade ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS (ELA 7)

Novel

 

Our study of the literary genre NOVEL centers on realistic fiction and serves as the kick-off to our independent reading program.  

 

There are three books in the ELA7 curriculum: Trouble by Gary D. Schmidt, Payback Time by Carl Deuker, and Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli.  You will be assigned one of the three books to read for class and to use as your first AR book.  For information about each book, click the title.

Our objectives are two-fold: to learn different ways to approach literature in order to better understand what you read and to analyze the author's craft.
