PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) Tests

I'm sure you already know a lot about the PSSA tests.  You've been taking them for years!

In 7th grade, we take the PSSA tests in the spring, usually in April.  In the 2014-2015 school year, the tentative testing timeframe covers several weeks.  More information about exact dates will be posted soon.

Usually, we take the tests over a 4-day period: a half-day, two full days, then another half-day.  You will be assigned to a teacher and to a classroom to which you will report for each testing session; you will not go to your regular classes during designated testing times/days.  You will have your regular lunch period, though, so no worries there!  Another plus: no overnight homework will be assigned on testing days.

We take one type of test in the morning (usually reading), then the other (math) in the afternoon.  As Pennsylvania develops the testing system and Peters Township develops our curriculum, the types of tests we take in 7th grade and when we take them may change.  Your teachers and principals will keep you up to date on any news.

If you are interested in more information about the tests, check out the PSSA page on the PA Department of Education website by clicking the button at the top of this page.
